This is the first post for the year 2008. Yes, it should not be here yet. Sorry for that. I ran into some scheduling issues, and had to do some major rearrangements with the postings – this was the easiest solution for me. Try to live with it.

Guilt. I admit it. Not only did I spend four hours in Ikea spending money but I also ate a real swedish apple pie. With ice cream. And I hate to say this but it was pretty ok.

Remorse. Even though I ate the Ikea bun I did also visit a nice little coffee house – Mokkamestarit – in Tampere. It was a muffin, but still, it was a Finnish version and also the coffee was really good. I recommend this place for people who like to taste some exotic coffee flavors.

China, of course, is most known for their delicious buns; buns so tasty that even the inhabitants of the Moon try to get a glimpse of them. This particular individual is a fine Pineapple Bun in its natural surroundings of Ritan Park, Beijing.
As Chairman Mao once said: Let a hundred buns bloom: let a hundred bakery schools contend.

Some news from the world caught my eye lately. The message was basically this:
- TV reporter was detained for fabricating story on steamed buns stuffed with cardboard in China
- A city-wide inspection of bun vendors found no such cases, China Daily said
- Beijing TV apologized for failing to check the report’s authenticity
The Friday Bun Society has only one opinion about the topic (naturally, as we are the source of Ultimate Truth, and there can be only one truth here): don’t you even think about mixing unbunny materials into Buns. Also, don’t even consider faking an article that places the honor of innocent Buns in jeopardy.
Buns are to be taken seriously (although there’s no need to be too serious when taking a Bun). Breaking the unwritten Law of Bun Honor (written above) yields the most devastating penalty: the Wrath of the Society shall be place upon you. So don’t.

The Founders of the Friday Bun Society hereby do not release any further information about rumours, which have not – repeat: have not – been circulating the internets lately, before that, or any time afterwards. We absolutely deny any outrageously exaggerated claims about corpora— corruption within members being investigated. Neither do we admit any plans of inviti— investing in a considerably large group of hi-tech professionals. Now come on, honestly. We would surely announce any activities of that sort in a clear and descriptive manner quite a lot beforehand, wouldn’t we?

Often, the deaths of remarkable people are noted and even celebrated regularly. For example, one of the buns that are in the news during the high season of FBS is eaten on a day that is dedicated to a famous poet and a master of written arts.
But isn’t this a bit odd? Shouldn’t it be the other way around? I suggest that we dedicate a day for celebrating the deaths of people who are just annoying and plain stupid. It’s us^H^H them who we want to get rid of, right?

The Society has nothing more to say about the matter at the moment. Except that there are no signs whatsoever of any progress in revolutionary movements, including theoretical ones.

December 30th, 2006 by erkki
Contrary to what we did last year (2005, that is), we will not write a last post for year 2006 at all. Some of our readers might have expected that and we are sorry about the disappointment. Let me assure you that this is not because year 2006 would not deserve a last post. Nor is it because we would not have anything significant to say. There is no special reason for the non-existence of the last post of 2006. These simply are the circumstances we now have to live with.
However, this is the first (and probably the last) post for December 2006.

Making it short: the Society is against statement-providing communities, which fail to provide statements frequently.

It’s been a while again since a bun-related post last saw daylight. Not that this one will, as it’s getting late, and the sun is not in sight anymore – not that it had even been today, as it’s been very cloudy all day – but I’ll post this anyway, just to show them.
The main content of the post is a mocha-flavored hyper-delicious piece of heavenly delight. This particular individual was acquired from a small, cozy bakery-cafeteria at Orivesi (Oriveden leipomo, I believe, is the place). Just go there and eat one. They are also available with pink stuff and white cream, without the mocha flavour, if you’re not into it.
As it happens, we – as in me and some of my friends and relatives – have nominated these sort of buns ‘motivations’. So now you know where to go if you’re feeling slightly unmotivated.
