Oh my, I see now that I have been a puusilmä while reading Komu's first reply related to my worry about the potential cardboardish matter within his bun. I should obviously have said that "you've not done the wrong check", as he said that he did not do a check at all. I'm not sure, though, whether it's better to not do the wrong check than not do the right check :-/

Erkki: charming argument you have, but I'd still like to expand it to cover also the non-existent or claimed cardboard, you're still talking only about real one.

Really sloppy bun-checking from Komu there. We should probably write a handbook for situations like this.

As I understand it, we're in a bit of a limbo here:

Did Komu end up eating Chinese cardboard with that strange pineapple (!!?!11) bun?

Even if there weren't any cardboard, did a news reporter or some other ill-minded soul make a claim that there would have been some in this very bun?

Is that Chairman Mao holding the bun?

Why would Chairman Mao hold his bun in such a queer manner (not that there's anything wrong with it)?

I guess we could rectify the situation by making an argument against the supposed claim that there would have been cardboard in Komu's bun. I'm making one now: there was no cardboard inside, outside or anywhere near Komu's bun.

Now we have at least one argument against and one (merely supposed) argument for the existence of cardboard in Komu's bun. In fact, in his comment above Komu also seemed to make an argument against its existence. So in my books the score is 2-1 or 2-0 for "no cardboard". QED.

The Mao Questions are still troubling me, though.

Aah, but there's a trick, you know. Apparently, the cardboard was only claimed to exist in the buns after all, so you've done the wrong check: you should have kept an eye out for _non-existent_ or _claimed_ cardboard. I bet you were looking for _real_ cardboard only.

You might have been fooled badly out there, fellow Founder.

No, I did not. But the bun was certainly consumed right after the picture was taken and no traces of cardboard were found.
