Buns of Summer

To give this site some actual content for a change, I decided to upload a few bun pictures from my cell phone. I hope this encourages my Fellow Founders to do the same. It’s summer time and we should be eating buns every day. Still there are no bun reports! Very disturbing.

The first picture was taken in the small town of Vammala. Vammala means something like Injury Town in English, but as far as the bun was concerned, it had no visible injuries nor did it inflict any injuries to me. I can’t say I’m disappointed, but I wonder why they chose to pick such an ominous name for their community if they don’t intend to hurt anyone. The bun itself, an oversized triangular doughnut (kolmiomunkki in Finnish), was ok. (BTW, we definitely need a bun glossary on this site.)

Injured Bun?

The second picture portrays a muffin enjoyed at the Korkeasaari Zoo in Helsinki. The muffin was a typical mass-produced industrial bun: dry and pretty tasteless. However, kudos to the zoo for selling some delicious fair trade coffee. It sure adds to the enjoyment when you know your consumption makes the world a better place and the big coffee corporation poor coffee farmer gets a proper payment. If only anyone sold fair trade buns.

The third and last picture was taken last weekend in Moominworld in Naantali. I had heard rumours about their savoury doughnuts in advance and they proved correct. The bun was simply excellent. Sounds too good to be true? It is. The Moominworld itself could be named Parents’ Wallet Exploitation World. Entrance fee for each and every family member is 17 euros and almost everything else costs too much as well. As much as I like eating perfect doughnuts surrounded by anusless white characters, that’s a bit too much for my budget.

Nice pictures you have there, my fellow bun-consumer!

I hope to have some energy in the near future so that I can upload my bun photo taken during my trip to Venice.

Erkki’s suggestion of the bun glossary is not a bad idea at all. Actually, I think it’s a buntastic idea!

You need to borrow me your cell phone before I can upload any bun pictures from it.

Nice post, however. I hope you noticed that these anatomically incomplete white characters also suffer from a lack of nostrils. What a big nose they have.

I also have a nice picture of a “spartan-like” bun but I don’t know where it is. I hope you liked the informational content of this message!

Hate, don’t worry, Google found it:

Doesn’t look like a bun to me, though.

Oy, begone, pest! That’s no Bun! Looking at that makes my eyes hurt and my stomach rumble. To call that a Bun is a crime against the humanity.

  6. erkki Says:

Now it wouldn’t be a real Spartan Bun if it didn’t cause you any inconvenience, would it? You need a whole lot of self-discipline and ascetic attitude to be able to enjoy that loaf filled with suspicious-looking substance.
