Norjanmunkki

That peculiar lump on the right is called norjanmunkki (Norwegian doughnut). Served at Café Amandis in Naantali in late July 2005.

The bun wasn’t much to write home about. The crust was somewhat delicious, but the inside resembled a dry cake which had to be flushed down with coffee to avoid suffocation. I’m not blaming the cafeteria, however. In fact, the place was quite ok and Naantali is a charming little town by the sea. Which is a real feat for something so close to Turku.
